Turning Points: Milestones in Women’s History
The workshop is dedicated to reflecting on historical processes, events, and structural transformations that marked key turning points in the position of women in Croatia across different historical periods. By “turning points” we do not necessarily mean major, canonised historical events, but rather moments in which visible shifts or restrictions occurred in women’s possibilities for action, as well as in the redefinition of their social roles and gender identities.
Approaching the topic diachronically, from Antiquity to the twentieth century, the workshop opens up possibilities for comparison and for identifying paradigms, parallels, (dis)continuities, and long-term patterns.
